Oops! Some of you may have already been sent this, with nothing but the title but this is the real thing.
I AM FREAKING OUT TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's hard to get by without a scratch when you aren't breathing.
I really need to pull myself together! Rehearsal frequency has just quadrupled and yesterday I did not rest more than 5 minutes.
I tried on my costume---so adorable! It's the same thing I saw on the Into the Woods in 2003 on the other Little Red Riding Hood. She was in high school at the time, but I fit into her costume beautifully. I'm not exactly fat or tall, but I fit! It has a deep red, flowing skirt, a baggy batterned blouse, a pretty blue vest, and a small, faded apron. Don't forget the red cape!
We aren't doing stage makeup this year, but Danielle(the director) told me I should wear really red lipstick to fit my character. I think a little blush could make it, too, and a natural-looking amount of mascara.
They aren't having the professionals work on our hair, either. Okay, so they're really pinching pennies this time, but this is my first big solo, and I'm not going to have a negative attitude about it. As far hair goes, I'm thinking I should make big ringlet curls throughout my head and pull the top layer up in a pony and tie in a dark red ribbon. Shiny ribbon.
I'm probably talking nonsense in the ears of all you males! Hahahahahaha. I'll move on.
Opening number, Magic To Do, has a lot of choreography and little time to learn it, so I'm only trying my best. I have a narration for the number "If You Wanna Go To Heaven," and I've memorized it thoroughly. I tell how the musical Big River came to be, its history, and what the scene is about. It's a BIG paragraph.
For my number, I get a body mike and a puddle of light, and the closing number I've got down.
Seeya! I've got to hold my breath again!
